How many running processes on your machine?

I tend to have many processes going (over 40) but with only 2 to 8% CPU usage as we speak, it doesn't slow down my machine at all.

 

Desktop---68
Laptop----67
Server----57

 

Right now i have 9 processes running.........

 

12, With CIS = Firewall\AV\HIPS. (I can disable the gui and make it 11)
10 without.

 

I can go down to only 10 if I disable DCOM Server Process Launcher, which is needed by Incredimail.

30 excluding the snagit and Process explorer processes. Idle cpu usage is normally @ ~ 3% except snagit s/shot brings it up for the capture. Hardware is a modest P4 1.7 GHz, 768 RAM home-built on an Asus P4b mobo. Still hums along after 6 years with only a h/drive and optical drive replacements

 

Right now 34 proc and CPU usage 4-8%

 

38 processes

 

On my R51 laptop Win XP Pro; 70 processes (too many?) shown by process explorer, with 4.5% cpu used, including about 2% for process explorer. There are 6 svchost processes included.
