Using Thunderbird 2.0.0.18 several received msgs are marked "[spam]" at the beginning of the subject line.

To teach the program, I go to the "messages" drop down from the toolbar and there is "Eset Smart Security" with an arrow pointing to the right. There I can choose "not spam." Then another window opens reading "reclassify selected message(s) as spam," etc., with yes or no buttons.

This dropdown opens behind the TB "Messages" dropdown and only a quarter inch of the left side can be seen which is sufficient to drag it into view. (Even though the Eset popup is formatted to be in the foreground, it is in the background -- this is apparent because I have header bars which if in the foreground are green and if in the background are red.)

Need a small correction here that will correct this activity.

Today have one msg marked as spam and for some reason the Thunderbird drop down from the "Message" button in the toolbar closes and only the Eset window is seen in it's entirety. Don't know they the behavioral change for I've made no changes to TB. So will watch it and if it again occurs will send a msg.

Incidentally, in another forum in Wilders could not attach a screen shot which I had converted from .rtf to .txt which allows up to 1mb. How does one go about attaching a screen shot? Of course, I could upload to some website and provide the link -- and if that's the case do you have a recommended site?

Thank you! Sent a small attachment to the Eset forum using SnagIt and it worked like a charm.

Incidentally in the directions after step 4 to add an attachment there is an additional step not mentioned: Need to close the attachment window using the button at the bottom.

This morning had another spam with a hidden screen when acted upon. Attached is a SnagIt pic.

This msg marked as spam for some reason cannot change it to not spam. Could there be a setting I've changed?

Have tried using both the button "not spam" in Eset toolbar in Thunderbird and right clicking and choosing not spam.

Oh, and the msg is not spam!

Tried the toolbar as well. However, nothing can be done about it now because the msg has been read and deleted. Will watch for recurrence.

Have you installed other spam filters or enabled built-in Thunderbird junk filter? Which one?
Have you installed any extensions? Which one?
Can you save message into file and take a look at source code of message and lookup X-Eset-AntiSpam? What is there?

Yes, the TB junk filter is in enabled -- would that prevent Eset from operating on this one msg only -- other msgs marked as spam which were not presented no difficulty in removing the spam marker.

Don't believe there are other extensions dealing with spam, other than perhaps Adblock Plus.

And last Friday I returned to a prior Acronis image and am back to Eset's Antivirus. Will hold up on re-installation of Smart Security until a few things are cleared up such as this and my other msgs dealing with Thunderbird's address book (Add Address book).

Having Thunderbird spam filtering as well as ESS does not cause any problems as I have both and I don't have any problems at all.
