    Need advice.

I'm approaching the end of my first year with Nod32 AV and I've started receiving the license renewal pop-up message. I'm interested in renewing the license.

Currently, the Nod32 version on my system is 3.0.621.0. I've read in this forum why someone who is running version 2.7 should upgrade. Since I'm already on version 3, does it really provide much benefit for me to upgrade if/when I renew my license? My machine is very stable. Version 3.0.621.0 has been very stable. My preference is to stay with this version unless there's a compelling reason to upgrade.

Would appreciate opinions from the pros.

Its advised to upgrade simply for the fact that bug fixes and features are added/fixed with updated versions.

But, if you are happy with your current version, keep it. I still use v2.7 on my systems and will do so for awhile. I have a couple with v3, all having different build versions.

There really is no harm in not upgrading if you are not having any problems. Its totally personal preference :)

Stay with version v3.0.621.0 - or join the v4.0 beta... ;)

Looks like I'll stick with v3.0.621.0

Hope renewing the license is a simple thing to do. I'll check back in if problems.

    Thanks folks.

Renewing your license is a breeze. Just go through any reseller, or Eset directly. When you purchase your license, whomever is inputing your order will need your Current Username and Password. This will allow you to keep your exising username/password. That way, you don't have to do anything to update your system.

    Easy as Pie. :)

    @Capp,
Another question....I've got 10 days before my current license expires. If I renew for another 12 month period before the 10 days fully expire, does the new 12 month license begin right then (on that day) or does it automatically get added onto the end of my current license? If the former, then it makes sense for me to wait until the end of these remaining 10 days before I renew.

What you would do in this case, let your reseller or Eset know when your license expires. They can set the license so that it expires 1 year from your current expiration date. That way you don't lose any days.

Thanks, Capp. Is this something I can do through you (noticed in your tagline that you're a distributor)? Any advantage going through a reseller versus direct with Eset?

Yes, you very well can purchse your license through us if you choose.

The benefits of purchasing through a reseller are, that if you happen to purchase through a reseller local to you, you have someone you can call on for support that is "in your neighborhood". Of course you can always post questions on the forums or contact Eset directly, but a lot of people like having a friendly face they can count on to help them personally.

Not to worry. I stuck with v3.650 for quite a while, afraid to update to v3.672 for fear I'd run into problems. I finally did it and find v3.672 to be stable and trouble free. Now we have to ease into v4. :)

Hi, could someone send me the link to a step by step process to renew a license via online using credit card at a secure Eset? What we need is the step by step process. The user who is close to expiration is NOT computer savy; he is 85 yrs old. He needs something where he can click on the Eye (it will turn orange when it's time to renew I understand) or some link within the software that takes him to the website where his version is automatically detected and he is given a choice of buying the renewal version of his current program or to upgrade and the 2 choices are easy to understand. Are there written instructions somewhere to show him this easy process? Thanks so much for your help!!!

katy98 - if the user is that un-tech-savvy, have them do it by phone - either call ESET or a reseller such as us, or Capp - we can take care of everything over the phone - I know we can also login to their computer and check the license is updated is we need to. The phone is often the best solution for older users.

    kind regards

    Greg
