    Hello ppl,

I've got tired of ZASS, it's sluggish performance and traffic stoppage bugs. The os shutdown slowing bug, that occurred in last update just filled the cap... so after reading some stuff around I decided to go with pure firewall plus a solid antivirus and stay far from the whole HIPS thing.

I like what I hear about LnS and want to use it but now I need recommendation for an AV choice to use along with LnS.
Was thinking about Kaspersky but there's stuff around that it has some issues with LnS... Norton maybe? Anything else that does the job and is not too heavy on system performance?

I have run the lightweight AVs, NOD, Avira, FPAV, Dr Web, VBA32, KAV and Norton AV 2009 with LookNStop; all without any problems.

The recent versions of KAV and Norton AV both run very well with LnS on my machines. Although, as you stated, there have been some reports of KAV/LnS conflicts I have never seen this; but again I only install the AV module, nothing else.

Best for you to install LnS and then trial some of the suggested AVs on your setup.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I just wanted to know if there's something to avoid using with LnS. I'll do some quick research on the latests AVs (I haven't followed that field for a while) and choose few ones to test. Cheers.

I've been very happy using Avira Antivir PE (the free version) for the past couple of years. It's lightweight, seems to be effective, and has a decent basic feature set. The biggest complaint that I generally hear of is the "nag screen" that pops up every time the program updates its definitions, but I've heard that the nag screen can be disabled by a couple different methods. Personally, the screen doesn't bother me and serves as a notification that my definitions have been successfully updated.

That said... I can't compare it to any of the other products, since I was so pleased with Avira that I didn't even bother trying other options.

After testing with Norton, Mcafee, Kaspersky, I decided to choose the combination of LnS with Antivir (Free version).:)
Yes, the nag of avtivir Free can be disabled with several methods. Just google it.
