is there is any difference between the trial version and paid version of nod . i mean to say that if nod finds any viruses it will clean or i have to pay for the full version to clean that virus ?

The only difference is that the trial is good for 30 days. Otherwise, the trial version is the same as the registered version in regards to updates, detection and cleaning.

Beside that, one of the trial version limitations is not supported incremental update.

Ah, I learn something everyday. ;)

Just to be clear to answer future questions others may have, does that mean the trial version's update downloads a big file to cover all the updates? Whereas in the registered version the updater is "smart" enough to only download what is needed (thus, an incremental update from the previous update)?

Is this why I get the messege "File not found" when I try to upgrade? or is it something wrong with my program?

You mean when you try to update the virus definitions? "File not found" is not a normal response as far as I am aware when you try to update the definitions. Does the updater actually download and install the virus definition update or do you just get that message?

Or do you mean actually "upgrade" the program itself to a newer or registered version (not updating the definitions)?

Edited to add: I just saw someone else post that they had the file not found problem too here: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=21528;start=msg134884#msg134884

    Hi guys,
this problem seems to be related only to one of the update servers. If you get an error file not found, please try to update again - until NOD32 updates from another server.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

    no update from all servers
    "file not found"
    for both trial and commercial
I thought there is a problem so I uninstalled when reinstalled
I got the error above again
    I'm on version 1.578 now

I have tried manually selecting each server in turn, and none seem to work -- and have tried "automatically select" several times as well... "file not found" for each.

    (Trial version (English) downloaded today).

    Will try later tonight.

I was running the trial version till last week when I upgraded to the commercial version. On several occasions I would get the "file not found" message when trying to manually update but if I persevered then it would work.

    Keep trying

    1. There is no update available today; that is as far as I can tell no update has been released.

    2. Running the registered version of NOD and when I manually look for an update it tells me that it is up to date. No error messages. I have "choose server automatically" as the server option.
