No slowdowns and I have been using so many for years that I just know use them as needed. If it was not for using the beta 3.1 I would have another 15 extension installed.

Dual Core 2.1GHz 4GB Vista Ultimate Load time went from about 1.5 seconds with no add-ons to about 8 seconds with; but subsequent launches tend to be faster. I can live with 8 seconds.
