Can Comodo Firewall Pro and PeerGuardian 2.0 RC1 Test 2 be used simultaneously?

Hi all!

I'd like to ask your advice and would like you to share your experience in using firewalls. I wonder whether it is safe to use Comodo Firewall Pro simultaneously with PeerGuardian 2.0 RC1 Test 2 without any unpleasent consequences.Are there likely to be any conflicts if both programmes are installed? Can PeerGuardian 2.0 RC1 Test 2 be considered a full-bodied firewall?

Hi Windfresh.

No. PeerGuardian, ProtoWall and such are just IP blockers and will complement any firewall. They will block all connections from certain IPs - government and educational institutions, known spyware and malware sites based on preconfigured IP blacklists which are maintained by Bluetack. I found both somewhat unstable (PotoWall more so) the last time I tried them, but that was a while (several months) ago, so don't let that discourage you. Do try them alongside your Comodo firewall (since, once again, that's what they're meant for) and preferably report back. Hell, I may even try them myself once more.
