Win XP Pro SP3 TI 11

(Actually, I am not sure whether it is hanging or just taking an inordinately long time...please read on...)

I have reinstalled an image after a BIOS upgrade (I had been having problems with two of my USB receptacles, and I thought the BIOS upgrade might help, but it did not). Almost everything seems to be working just fine except two things: now I am having a problem with the TI 11 program hanging (or, rather, taking a much longer time initializing one of the partitions) on one partition when I start up the program (and my shutdown is taking longer than before). It will zip through partitions C: and E:, but it will take 2-3 minutes initializing partition F: (which is only 160 GB.)

Any ideas why this is happening or what I can do to correct any problem?

    Thanks

    Hello kdkrone,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

It's possible that the problem is caused by a conflict with Distributed Link Tracking Windows service. Please disable it and see if it solves the problem. It can be disabled at Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Component Services -> Services (Local).

Please see this thread for more information.

    Thank you.

Well, stopping the Distributed Links Tracking Windows service solved the problem on my XP SP3 system. I am not clear what has happened on the disk that was stalling out TI. I may try copying the partition to another disk and seeing if the new disk solves the problem, although reading through the other thread, it is not clear what value it is for me to have that service running...

    Thanks
    Ken K
