The time when everything is running fine is the time that you start looking for that little "extra" tweak to make it run even better, and..........guess what..............yes it goes wrong.............lol
    Very sad really..........lol

that one last little tweak had caused me a re-format many a time.... every aspect of computing is it's own microcosmos so to speak - you could spend days learning how to optimally rip a cd to another audio format or tweak your torrent client for optimum speeds, for instance :D

and with me trying to branch out and learn bsd and linux you could see where this workload will keep me busy into my mid-late thirties :(

    :D

I have a feeling that if you move beer up on the list maybe women might soon follow. :)

Gee, I was under the impression that the reason I visit here is that my system already runs good, and that I have an addiction to learning interesting things about computers, especially relating to being paranoid about the perfect security setup.

I had no idea one could actually achieve that. Wow, I learn something new here everday.

Can you guys please tell me what your config is that let's you do other things like drink more beer. And, if I use your config, will my wife be ok with me drinking more beer ? :)

    Sul.

Sully, there is always time for beer.
My setup is far from perfect, but (and I'm gonna quote Kees on this one) "it is important to realise that it is not realistic and healthy to let a 0,00001% chance influence your life for 99,99999% of the time."

After discovering LUA and SRP my computing life has become a bit boring, security wise. I have no woman so I play wih Linux. Read more books and watch movies.

Yeah, same here, I have settled down a lot lately. I plan on getting back to reading again, something that I sort of dropped when I got involved with the PC years ago. And then of course there are all the usual entertainments.. ;)

Good thing that I taught my oldest daughter t quit dating computer geeks - gurus or whatever is lurking behind college walls - libraies, tech schools and such. *sigh* She'll be marrying someone who takes her away from that machine
for more than an hour - I made sure of that. :shifty:

As for me, I like playing on the computer.
Is there anything else ?? lol

When everything is fine, you start tweaking it till it breaks, then you have plenty of work to do..... :)

    I take advanced math courses.
I've already learned to count as high as 7.
I think I should go break my toy now.
    Goodbye.
