I think the biggest reason for staying with 10 rather than using 12 would be the automation features regarding Full backups missing in 12. Otherwise, supposing it gets a few needed fixes, it's probably in as good a shape as 10 and handles more hardware setups. 10 started a bit rough too, but back then, Acronis used to do updates pretty much as needed rather than just wait for a new annual version to contain the fixes.

Of course, if you avoid almost all of a program, you won't run into most of its probs. ;)

I dual boot w/2 versions of Vista and VistabootPro installed on the first HD. I have never had an issue except when I restored an image from drive 2 to drive 1, just to see what would happen, which I did. No boot record, no boot. My bad.

    Works for me - - :D

ETA - Forgot 1 issue I did have - can't make a bootable DVD with 2009 - abandon that idea.

I have just upgraded to TI 2009 as after a two week trial I found it works without fault - definitely the best TI product to date. I dual boot and it's the first TI product that doesn't mess up my dual boot and I also have Office 2007 and that also works after a restore - one happy user here :D

    Hello all,

Thank you for your interesting in Acronis True Image

Those who received serial number exchange e-mail for Acronis True Image Home 2009 and those who received trial version pop-up window on program startup should do as described above.

Submit your current serial number(s) at http://www.acronis.com/my/products/exchange/ to get replacement serial number(s) instantly. Additional information is available in Acronis Knowledge Base at http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/support/kb/articles/1053 We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding in this matter.

The issue concerning Microsoft Office error after restore is known issue and it will be fixed as soon as possible. The reason of the problem is that ATI has default exclusion list when backing up in Windows (*.bak, *.~, *.tmp). After restore MS Office will ask for the installation CD because it stores some registration information in *.bak files. The solution is to back up the system partition without these exclusions

    Best regards,
