How can someone say that Nod is not improving,or updating.maybe the version is still the same, but have a look at the updates of Components, like Advanced heuristics Module. My last update of it is from 24.10.2008!!! and many others are updated often.Just open your exes guys.No one is perfect!:)One like this and other that.I trust Eset and I wish you luck guys!:thumb: Hope one day i will be working in it.but that are many years of studying in front of me.

Everything in life has some place for improvements. As NOD32, so it does Avira, Dr. Web, Norton, etc.

My 2 cents is that start complaining about this sounds very redundant to me. ESET company surely knows and understand that needs to go work hard to reach the top of the tests again. And I bet that they're doing their jobs...

About NOD32 interface, I like it. I would rather expect improvements on detecting and cleaning plagues than changing from blue baloons to multi-colored rainbows.

I think those discussions about GUI are useless. The problem is not the GUI, the problem is the time respond to new threats. 2 weeks to add a new submitted threat to the signatures is unbelievable. I send several samples to some AV vendors, and I must say: some of them do answer, some not, but even those who don't answer add the detection to their database quickly. How can I trust an anti-virus software which lacks detection for many malware?
The software itself is very good: light on system resources, good heuristics, very few false positives, but like I said, the problem here is the response time to new threats. I believe ESET team is doing their best, but it's clearly not enough, I must say.

Worst of all that the staff at ESET cannot even admit it.

my thoughts the same! I just love the interface more than any other AV software and I love the balloon tips! :D :D :D

on a side note: I was testing Avira but had to uninstall it, I just didn't feel at home. Then I renewed my NOD32 license for two more years. but I sure admit there's room for improvement. ESET has been very solid over the years and I think they will come up again. go ESET!
