Why do you, experts say that the best antiviruses are NOD32, Command Antivirus, Dr.Web, Kaspersky and AVK? These are fairly unknown softwares, except Kaspersky. OK, I believe you. But why does so much of people uses Norton, McAfee and Panda? These are the most popular Av softwares on the market.

They are the best "known" because of pervasive advertising and being pre-installed on PCs etc. This definitely doesn't make them better. I am a collector of knives, even though I haven't bought one in some time now, and I can tell you most people carry a pocket knife you could find at Wal Mart and know nothing about something like a hand-made "Indian Head" made of high-carbon solingen steel in Germany... but that Indian Head sure beats a Schrade any day ;)

You can drive Mosler MT900R, Ferrari or Bugatti..... Some say the three are the best, but most people hardly know them and are still driving their old Dodges...

Some people will be very adamant that nod or kav or Dr web are the best av's on the market, and they are very good products. In some respects they may individualy be the best in some aspect. But just to say one av is the best is just a little arrogant. There is no single best av they all have their strengths and weakneses. In the testing of these av's some show a better result that does not necessarily show how they will perform on an individuals computer in the real world. Panda ,mcafee .norton have been around a long time and I agree that mcafee and norton do get a lot of advertising, panda not near as much. But even with all the advertising if these av's were not pretty decent they would not have survived all this time. After being here at wilders I have come to the conclusion after reading numerious post's on the virtues of most of the av's on the market that there are just a very few av products that are bad enough to bash and there are none in this post.

This is just my personal opinion and I am not defaming or flaming anyone or any product.
