    Simple and TIGHT!

I run several different system configurations due to my collection of Hard Drives. This is the one i'm active with this week.

    ProcessGuard
    EQS 3.41 (Alcyon November's Rules)
    SandboxIE
    Kerio 2.15 w/Blitzen's Rules

And best of all, the All New and still experimental beta 1 FireFox browser.

I finally; after reading all our members high satisfactions over plug-ins get to experience NoScript + AdBlocker and a few others.

I could easily set PG to run some apps like wmplayer but don't mind a bit that after PG alerts, EQS also alerts, then they proceed. To me and in researching, it's a tiny inconvenience i really don't mind.

My setup is similar to yours Easter. if you are trying firefox try these speed tweaks you will find pages will load much faster. and they load even faster with no script.

And I personally think that Admuncher and Proxomoitron is way better than the firefox add on "Adblocker" because Admuncher and Proxomoitron works like a Proxy they filter out the adds, banners and crap before they even get to your browser making browsing much Safer and Faster. I know Alcyon uses Proxomitron but I prefer Admuncher. but I would try Proxomitron again if Alcyon would post his Proxomitron Rule set?

    FF speed tweaks

nglayout.initialpaint.delay;0 need to add this one in
    network.http.sendRefererHeader;0
    network.http.keep-alive;false
    network.http.max-connections;48
    network.http.max-connections-per-server;30
    network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy;30
    network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server;30
    network.http.pipelining;true
    network.http.pipelining.maxrequests;48
    network.http.proxy.pipelining;true

    My setup

    ProcessGuard
    EQS 3.41
    Sandboxie
    Comodo firewall
    SSH v2 Tunnel Encryption Proxy

Web Filtering Admuncher, Firefox No Script, Firefox Cookie safe with global cookies blocked.

    Thanks arran

I just added those and disabled the other 2 to gauge what FF 3.1 beta's response will be. A lot of useful speed tweaks there.

yea if you goolge there are a few more tweaks but those are the Main ones. those tweaks are actually for firefox 2 but I find that they work just as well in firefox 3

I forgot to mention too, I don't know if you have allready done it or not, but you know how In XP SP2 the default connection limit is only 10?
    http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=1497

for the FF tweaks to work properly you need to remove that connection limit.

New and improved setup as i got fed up of OA 3 Free startup lags and was very impressed with NAV 2009. All systems remain behind a Netgear Router and all have IE7 Pro, and SpywareBlaster installed and run SAS and Gmer On demand. Im also considering adding either Opera or Firefox (with Adblock and No Script).

    Desktop: Windows XP SP3 (nlited)

    Resident
    NAV 2009
    CFP v3 (with Defence +)

    Backup
    FD-ISR (Uncrippled version)
    Drive Snapshot

    On-Demand
    SandboxIE

Desktop: Windows Vista SP1 (UAC and Windows Defender Disabled)

    Resident
    KIS 2009

    Backup
    Drive Snapshot

Laptop: Windows Vista SP1 (UAC and Windows Defender Disabled)

    Resident
    Avira Antivir Premium
    Outpost Firewall Pro 2009

    Backup
    Drive Snapshot

    On-Demand
    SandboxIE

All systems run very light and are all extremely well protected for their uses. Unless any issues crop up in the future, this will be my final setup.

    Avira Premium Security Suite 8
    Zemana Antilogger
    KeyScrambler

    On-demand:
    Malwarebytes

    Virtualization:
    Sandboxie

    Browser
Firefox with Addons: WOT, Secure Login and Adblock Plus

I don't see the need for 10 different security software when you could be just as safe with the above. No need for an annoying HIPS that prompts you every 2 seconds. All i need now is backup software but first I want an eSATA 1GB HDD and set up RAID 0. Waiting for it to drop from $160.

Kmeleon speed tweaks like those posted above are providing no noticable difference. Kmeleon seems to already be tweaked to the point of not noticing such improvements. A kind one over in kmel forums helped me get a tool to test page loads. I tested many different pages of varying content on a fast computer with 3m/512m dsl connection, using both cache and no cache, and the difference is sparodic and improvements are very small. I found more speed improvements by using the proxomitron. As for rulesets, I too would be interested in seeing someones proxo rules that knows what they are doing. mine works well with everything but java and flash. I use non-proxy sandboxed browser for that though.

Maybe FF31b is different. Check the footprint of KMel compared to FF2/3 and see the difference. The extra content that is in FF adds a bit of usage. So does todays Opera too though.

EDIT: Added Malware Defender in the mix. :D
