OK, I am that guy who bought TI7 and had to throw it out, because rescue media did not work on my Toshiba 5205 laptop. Nor did the tens of different "custom ISO's", sent by the support.

Now, well forgotten the past, I have downloaded TI12(9615) and tried to create a bootable rescue flash disk. Guess what? I got " Acronis Loader fatal error: Boot drive (Partition) not found. Press <Enter> to try to boot your OS."
I tried, and my OS booted just fine, Acronis didn't manage to damage it (fanfares).

Now, how difficult can it be to create a bootable flash drive? I have installed slax (FREE!!) and it requires only one double click to make that USB stick boot. I can easily make DOS bootable drive. Only Acronis is helpless with "fatal error" to boot from flash drive. Ohh, should I have contacted support, I would have got again the same "FIXMBR C: FIXBOOT C: BOOTCFG /rebuild bla bla" :'( and would have to shout back - my boot sector is OK, fix your .... software.

But I am not upset at all, as this is something I should have expected, the only question is - how this company, unable to manage simple boot from USB stick (and even on some computers from CD - yes, I tried and it still doesn't work on that Toshiba - 5 full versions later  ), is still in business?

    Hey cerBer,
ive had the same experience with ATI 9 last year.
plus dont forget to mention when you uninstall it it leaves a few services and drivers around. Then if you try to remove it using there huge manual uninstall list, when you next boot your computer it wont be able to boot unless you use the last known boot which still has the services and drivers there.

if you havent found a decent imaging solution yet i sergest you search imaging software in the software forum.

A couple of help from enterprise customers who use PXE and normal CD recovery medias, not limiting themselves to judge a product on just one of several options.

You do know that older hardware go obsolete and thus newer softwares drop their support for it and instead focuses on current trends. Like can you install vista on P2 233 made years ago, 3 versions later

For me, several options like broken installer (yes, it does not uninstall properly, if you didn't know) and struggling with boot media over 5 versions, is quite enough to judge the "product" and even its creators. Even more so, after being their guinea pig for a while.

Really? Would you advise what in that 2GHz P4M and 945M chipset is so obsolete? And what is obsolete in my current Dell laptop still under the warranty, sure it is obsolete too, right?

Don't get upset but I think you will find that Dell lives in a world of its own. Over the years Dell users seem to have had more than their fair share of problems. Having used Acronis since version 6 and having had no problems at all it seems quite normal to me that others would experience the other extreme. If I were you I would (a) get a refund and give up on Acronis and (b) try out one of the alternatives - such as shadow protect, paragon...
