Another question on the trial version (3.0.669) of NOD32: the definitions are version 3231 (20080701), which is seriously out of date as they were created in July 2008. I see that the real current definitions version is 3534 (2008101:cool:, today's date. When I say update, NOD32 checks and then says the definitions are up to date.

Is this failure to update to the current set of definitions due to the fact it is a trial version, or do I have another problem? A search of the forum didn't come up with an answer.

Click on the Update one more time . The program responded it is up-to-date because the server was busy to respond .

The current version doesn't distinguish between server too overloaded or there is really no update . Very rarely this might happen and ESET plan to change the messages it in future versions so that the user really knows when they are updated or when the server can't service.

Thanks much... I tried a couple of more times in succession and got the update, so that answers that question.
