StartEd Free is a Startup and Windows Service manager for private non-commercial use as well as for use in charity organizations and educational use. StartEd Free uses the InstallIQ installer.

StartEd Free lets you modify your Startup configuration and detects more than 150 Trojan Horses. StartEd Free displays detailed info about Startup Programs and describes the functionality of every System Service so that even novice users are able to manage their startup configuration. A warning message will be displayed when a System Service vital for your computer's stability is about to get disabled.

Hmmm,Just install it but there's a bunch of other applications that try to install,screensavers a lot, and toolbars,maybe other things what get you behind the scenes.That not good so uninstalled it inmediately.

 

Agree with Huupi,a program installing screen savers and tools bars is not a good thing and IMO = spyware.

 

People need to slow down, THATS how you get infected, if you did not read as you went, and uncheck these things, then you would have no problem. Thats how malware spreads, spread the word. Ill add a note to the download page.

 

I unchecked everything on our test run. Not too pleased with it, but Cacheman goes back to our early years writing memory tools since I can recall, so I am giving him a break. In this picture, I declined everything, but Yahoo Toolbar:

Hi Majorgeeks, I see this StartEd Free as the ultimate SPAMMER,companies that offer free honest softwares has no need pushing aggressively addons like the way StartEd is offered.There is no mention on their website that all this stuff is included in the downloaded exe file.If they mentioned it beforehand should be a sign of honesty but sneeking in some stuff you don't ask for..............,you know.
