File extensions

    When I was trying some new encryption software, I noticed that the AES encryption would have a extension like .cpt or .bfa. Isn't this somewhat insecure? If the hacker found out what program you are using, would it make it easier for him/her to hack the file?

    Maybe, if that particular program's implementation of AES had a vulnerability it would give an attacker an advantage.
