Bootable CD

I just downloaded the trial version of TI 11 and I made a Bootable CD with the software. I am running Windows VISTA on a Toshiba Laptop with an external Maxtor III harddrive (1TB in size).

The question that I have is that when I boot up using the Bootable CD everthing goes fine until It tries to analyze all the drives and when it finds the external Maxtor III harddrive it just hangs for about 15 seconds and the it keeps shutting down on me and then reboots again. It does not seem to want to read the external Maxtor III harddrive for some reason.

I only have 15 days to see if I can get this to work.

Any help with this would greatly be appreciated.

I did not think you could make a valid bootable CD with the trial version. Once you have the bootable CD you are good to go on any machine. Acronis would not like that. My belief was that they guard against that by only allowing creation of a bootable CD from the paid version.

 

As far as I know, the trial version of the TI CD is limited to doing Restores. This allows a user to test its function before they purchase. Backups must be done using the Windows version which has a time limit.

Have you tried the quiet acpi=off noapic option detailed in Section II of the PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST thread?

Does TI start normally from the CD if the Maxtor is not connected?

 

Sorry for the confusion:

I made the bootable CD with Discwizard from Seagate/Maxtor which is a stripped down version of TI 11.
I thought I could use that bootable CD. Discwizard did the same thing and could not read my external Maxtor drive and would just cause the system to reboot as described above.
