Thanks Pro. - I shall look a bit further into it but I should mention to you to be very wary re. just typing the FIRST part of a CLSID to search the reg.
because the one I mentioned as being parked in 'controlset002' is BEFORE I realized that the set of 4 numbers was missing - In other words typing in
only the first part of a CLSID can give you MANY results which may have NO bearing whatsoever on the real CLSID that you might be looking for.

    Regards.

    [ AxBan v1.5, with " KillBit all " button ]

Microsoft explanations from Article ID: 240797 :

" How to stop an ActiveX control from running in Internet Explorer "

... You can prevent an ActiveX control from running on Internet Explorer by setting the kill bit so that the control is never called by Internet Explorer when default settings are used.
The kill bit is a specific value for the Compatibility Flags DWORD value for the ActiveX control in the Registry [ DWORD value to 0x00000400 ].
    [ Look to : HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\CLSID of the ActiveX control ]
After the kill bit is set for an ActiveX control, that control is not called by Internet Explorer at all unless the Initialize and script ActiveX control not marked as safe option is enabled in Internet Explorer [ ... Options IE/Security/ ...].

    FREEWARE : RemoveAny v2.3.6. 303 Kb, from http://heavenward.ru/removeany.php

Use heuristic to detect rootkits, keyloggers, trojans, downloaders and other sh***...

This is On Demand software ( nothing on Windows Task Manager; but on C\WINDOWS\system32\drivers: RemoveAny.sys and RemoveAny.log monitors the changes on Windows. RemoveAny.log size down to 124 Kb after each restart of Windows ).

If you have suspicious ( = on Red ) modules/processes, you should NOT immediately delete those files. To make a correct decision, if the file is really suspicious or not, you may surf the Internet looking for files.

... and my StartupMonitor - is OK! ... Red - and NOT suspicious! I remember this ...

... This is an another ( and FREE ) Mamutu? ...:argh:
    I adopted this baby.:thumb:

rookieman, try HoverSnap, a super small Screen Capture tool. If you have Vista, try PortableApps.com Lightscreen Portable. Both are good and easy to use programs.

    Hi everybody,

Unfortunately, for the moment I have ever used the screen capture softwares ... but now I'm starting to think about it.

Soon I give you my impressions of experiences with this ...

    One example : Jet Screenshot 1.0 : www.jetscreenshot.com

Select and capture anything on your screen, easily add text, arrows, or effects, and share immediately online !!! Good for bloggers, technical assistance specialists ...

    Good Night, Prorrr

Be warned!!!!!..... this app will keep growing your logs even after you close the program.(MJ Registry Watcher started to get very noisy).

I had to go into Computer Management> Device Manager > Stop driver

    See attached screenshot(XP SP2):

    Hello everybody,

    # Thank you, Tarnak: I did not know that there are RemoveAny.sys and RemoveAny.log.

McAfee SiteAdvisor: - informations of RemoveAny: Nuisance Score 0 ( zero ).
ThreatExpert's awareness of the file "RemoveAny.sys": Across all ThreatExpert reports, the file "RemoveAny.sys" has never been identified as a threat. Not found to be a threat. Notch: Green.
Runscanner: RemoveAny.sys - this file is digitally signed by it's publisher. This means that the file is from the company claiming to created it, this does not mean by default that the file is safe.

    It is clean, my RemoveAny.

PS. RemoveAny.log size down to 124 Kb after each restart of Windows.

    Thanks, PROROOTECT
