    Hello, can any one help?

New Lenovo A57 Thinkcentre desktop model 97027MG
160 GB SATA-300 HDD, WinXP Pro SP2, installed from Lenovo downgrade CD to replace factory installed Vista.
SATA-300 and Ultra ATA controllers show up in Device Manager.

When trying to create Image, using Full Version Boot CD, get "E000101F4 - no hard disks" error.
When using Safe Mode Boot CD, cannot see DVD/CD drive, but can create/restore to/from HDD partitions.
Both Boot CDs made on Lenovo machine, running TI 8 under Windows.

No problems with Full Version Boot CD, when used on machines with Ultra ATA controllers.

Any ideas to cure this problem, as I prefer to be able to restore using a TI boot CD?

    Many thanks, Grippo

Acronis True Image 8.0 is quite old program and probably your sata controler is not supported by version 8.0. You may download trial version of Acronis True Image 11.0 Home and check if problem presists. If version 11 solves your problem you may consider to buy upgrade.

Safe mode uses the BIOS to access hardware while the normal mode uses the OS (linux on the bootCD) driver to access hardware and can only access what the BIOS can access directly. The bootCd apparently doesn'thave the right drivers for your hardware. Contact tech support to get an iso to burn to cd to make a bootCD with the right linux drivers or build an BartPE or VistaPE boot disk for restores, which would use the Windows drivers.

    Hello grippo,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please make sure you use the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0. To get access to updates you should first register your software. Don't forget to recreate Acronis Bootable Rescue Media after updating.

If the latest build doesn't resolve the problem, please try booting with "acpi=off noapic" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Note that since you use an older version of Acronis True Image you should press F11 button when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears.

We recommend you to download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 11 Home to see how the software works on your computer. With the trial version of the product you will be able to fully use the Windows version for 15 days. The bootable rescue media will be limited to restore function.

You can find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis True Image 11 Home in the respective User's Guide.

Please visit Acronis online store to purchase the full version of the product. Notice that as you already own a previous version of Acronis True Image, you can purchase an upgrade installation package at reduced price (as compared to independent installation package).

    Thank you.
