"In-the-cloud" Technology

There are many AV-Vendoers developing a new technology called "In-the-cloud" .

Panda's is called "Collective Intelligence" , McAfee's is called "Artemis" and Norton's is called "Norton Community Watch" .

In the latest test of AV-Test , all of above had better detection rates and faster respond time .

I suggest that ESET shoud start to develop your own "In-the-cloud" technology(Or you have started develop it from a long time ago !?).

'Couse "Today 15,000 new viruses will be created..." , for the faster respond time "In-the-cloud" technology is a new way .

eset has THREATSENSE TECHNOLOGY. no need for new one. just improve it

trend micro had IN THE CLOUD
bitdefender had BHAVE
NOD32 HAS THREATSENSE

 

Only 15,000? This seems to be a quite small number as we get much more via ThreatSense

 

I'd feel fooled if more than 15000 ... Tell your webmaster to change the site

 

They are all different kinds of technologies .

It seems you have to read about "In-the-cloud" technology first .

BTW , F-Secure also has a similar technology:

It means you connection with the AV-Vendors' server and get the result in a few time even seconds .

 

This "In the cloud technology" became the new buz word when Google launched its new browser "Chrome" on Sept. 3rd. Just like the browser, its got a ways to go before we'll be using it, unless I haven't read enough Google alerts yet.

 

IN THE CLOUD IS FROM TREND MICRO

 

I think the name was from TrendMicro is right , but in Chinese it is the same mean .

the buzz word "in the cloud" has been bandied around for the last 2 years - in hosting, it is used for distributed computing and/or storage - basically - it means "not on your machine, but on another machine or machines - somewhere ELSE". It's "internet" by another name.

Don't buy into the buzz-word - it has ALWAYS existed since you started downloading your updates using your very first modem and information was passed back the other way...
