I am looking at IBK results ( along with some other tests) to finalize a buy.
But it may not necessarily end up on my personal laptop.

IBK most probably didn't test NIS2009 so I have nothing on this test and I'm quite happy with NIS ;)

Well, Trustport, Eset, F-secure, and eScan have lost their ADVANCED+ status, while McAfee and Microsoft have dropped to STANDARD.. no products have improved.

Kaspersky back up to advanced+...really pushed the heuristics since the last test.

I wouldn't be changing even if they got stanard though ;)

F-Secure has their in-house heuristic engine.
But eScan uses Kaspersky Kit and if I remember correctly no in-house heuristics. Only addition is use of Microworld WinSock Layer ...

These tests that many swoon over, have as much credit as such articles as was provided. The point is, keep what you have. Just wanted to give some contrast to the topic. However, (morbidly) I do enjoy watching the sigs change as well!!:ninja:

I do agree that it is an event kicking back and watching the lemmings running back and forth to the av's that scored higest. should be on the wild world of sports :D or worlds funniest videos.

I am tossing between renewing subscription of Avira or going for Norton 2009...
Thats a real tough call. I hoped the tests would provide some help, but they just made it worse !!
