When protecting Tiny Personal Firewall 2.0.15 with Process Guard 1.3 having Close Message Handling on the Human Verification dialog not only pops up if you try to close the Firewall but sometimes also when you start it.
Is this a peculiar way of TPF to handle messages or is it a known issue of Process Guard?

With the same program (TPF) the dialog at one time got stuck during input of the characters (characters could still be put in but you could only see half of the dialog so you couldn't read them).

System: Athlon Thunderbird 1000 MHz, 256 MB SDRAM
OS: Windows 2000 Pro SP 4 (logged in with administrator rights).

    Hi Wiskonst,

    Welcome to Wilders!

It is not unusual to have multiple HIDs on some programs as some make use of multiple hidden windows so, yes, it is a known issue. Some steps are currently in progress to help resolve this issue.

In the meantime, it should not impact the protection in any way it just makes the interface somewhat awkward for a small percentage of programs.

Don't hesitate to ask any other questions :)

    Thank you Dan.

I wasn't thinking it affected my protection, it was just somewhat annoying.
(But also the Process Guard at one time did not hinder TPF from closing, not unlike what was said in the posting of WilliamP, 'Close Message handling'.)

Let me say Process Guard is a great program that makes you feel safer as far as viruses attacking your security programs are concerned.
Thank you for the work you did on it.
But ... if you don't mind me saying ... might it not have been better to work this message issue out in a beta rather than the commercial version?

Probably PG reacts when TPF closes it's introduction window. Isn't there a way to discern the closing of a modal window from closing less important ones?

Must say I'm currently only evaluating Process Guard.
Hope you can solve the issue.

    Regards

I have System Safety Monitor and tried protecting it with Close Message Handling. When I would click on a new exe. and the SSM box pops up for you to ok it. When you did the close message handling window pops up as if you were tring to close it. I had to take the CMH ing off.

Sometimes the Human Verification dialog pops up when a splash screen is trying to close. I don't know about Tiny but it happens with Kerio.
