    I there,

Any work on an new version of Nod32?

From this site (http://www.virusbtn.com/news/2008/09_02.xml), I see that other security companies are gaining ground. Even Symantec NIS 2009 is almost getting better than Nod32.

Is there any work from ESET that will set Nod32 above the others?

    Mart.

    P.S. Fixed the link.

Your link is bad "no page found". Also the position of Av's in any ranking changes almost daily and NIS 2009 is a fine product so nothing against them but NOD is protecting me just fine and I am satisfied that Eset is still refining V3.

its actually true that NOD32 is failing to catch the new virus detections compared to products who were not even considered to compete with NOD32, a year back,...

nod32 has 2 do something to build themself back well...

faster detection of new samples, new variants addons...

and yeah Major change in v4 should be with the " Generic Detection " or "Threatsense Detection", commanly called as possible variant of x,

well i would surely rate NOD32 to 80% up to mark as its last year standing was 99%

    regards, keep posted

I agree with you that the spyware/ adware detection could be much better in NOD32 they really should work on it. I don't see any reason to bring out a V4 V3 works OK but the detection should be a bit better to get more viruses and spyware.

But still if you have an Paid Antivirus such as NOD32 you need a free Spybot, Malware bytes to remove the real spyware this should not be the case in my humble opinion.

the variant was not being caught by any of the anti-malware,
it was majorly caught by AVS with good Generic Detection,

basically i want to say to NOD is to update their generic detection engine, to catch new variants of similar virus with similar symptoms, like the autoit.xx variants

I don't trust those tests. Do you really believe that Avast scores better than NOD32 or Kaspersy? Those tests are clearly biased.
They forgot to mention that AVK uses more than one anti-virus engine.

Just because it has 2 engines don't mean it will detect better heck it could actually Drop detection.

Can the test be trusted... Of coarse heck Eset use's them to market with. its no joke its detection rating HAS gone down as of late. avast has made lots of improvements to there engine as of late also. so please dont discredit test when you know nothing about them.

v4 When it does come out I am hoping up's that detection rating and puts NOD back where it belongs among the top. I my self am a long time user of Eset and I don't want that to change. but the simple truth is Eset has to wake up and keep with it or they will be left in the dust.

yes your right eset should catch up with others. based on my review on norton 2009 products, its outstands nod32 in all aspect.

I hope V4 will have better malware removal and deep registry scanning.

But first we may see NOD32 V3.5 maybe?
