Woow, I cant wait to see the next releases:

    Safari : WebKit4 + SquirrelFish
    FireFox: Gecko + TraceMonkey
    Chrome: WebKit3 + V8

which one would be the winner in speed?

    I guess safari 4:doubt:
anyway, to me, the faster the better.:D

I tried the Safari 4 preview, I can't remember very well but it was as fast as or slower than chrome. However since then new builds have been released. BTW, you can get it here

    hello emperordarius
I tried that dev-preview too. Compared to Chrome, it's really not quite fast.
so I am always wondering if safari 4 is shipped with Squirrel Fish, and If not, how long would I have to wait before getting a squirrelfish enabled Safari.
anyhow, I am still using Safari from time to time. cauz I am impressed by its nice RSS rendering.
Personally, I hope Chrome could have a similar feature someday.

Does anyone know what build Chrome is on as of today? As of 9-3 it was 0.2.150.0. Just wondering if they're fixing bugs on the fly with successive builds. :)

Tried Chrome and was somewhat impressed. Definitely faster than FF but not faster than Internet Explorer 7 + IE7Pro + TCP Optimizer tweaks.

The lack of Roboform extension support is a major sticking point for me. I can't surf the net w/o Roboform and won't use any browser that does not support it (ie Opera, Chrome).

Also I don't like the fact that Google has the ability to "snoop" on my surfing habits and collect personal data. I value my privacy.

    Thumbs down for me! :thumbd:

SVN versions are faster than ie7, you must not visit javascript heavy sites because even the officially released version beats ie with those

Lack of roboform support is the fault of roboform. I suggest you request support over at roboform AND file a request over at chromium

Snooping is only partial and you can disable it

Is it easy to uninstall? In other words does it have it's own uninstall or is add-remove preferable? After uninstall, how much does it leave behind? :doubt:

Yes its straightforward, entry is in Add/Remove-but leaves a lot of files behind

From memory, most are cache files and an ordinary cleaner would remove.

Seems no reg entries are left.

I use RevoUninstaller, will remove these traces.

Removed hoping this would enable the latest build to be downloaded, but this wasnt the case.

Also doesnt seem to have problems installing over the top-but slow.

How does one update? All I can see is the version number opening 'about Google Chrome'.

Couldnt update, even after reinstalling as mentioned.

Seems the latest versions are not for public release yet.

It doesnt have a "check for updates"-but it should, amongst a lot of other features-its just a bit too basic IMO.

Just download the mini installer from the SVN and double-click. You can remove the google chrome version. The uninstaller deleted most everything.

Something strange when allowing the app in Windows Vista firewall: if I use %USERPROFILE% in the app path, it won't work, but when I use a full path it works fine.

    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe
    vs
    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe

Maybe Google updater will take care of it, although Chrome doesn't even show on its list. It might be too basic at the moment, but it certainly is very fast.

if you want to keep the browser history and password record in Chrome, please dont forget to copy the [USER DATA] folder from chrome to chrimiun, before removing chrome.
    hehe, just in case;) .
