I am always logged in on Mozilla and it says "Welcome Mele20. You have 13 messages". None of them are new. But when I try to post, it says "guest". "Please login or register".

I guess this problem on Mozilla is due to the problem on Firefox. I just reinstalled Firefox 0.8 tonite and needed to login forever here. So I tried to and was told my password was wrong. Well, it is what I have written down....I don't need to remember it on Mozilla as I am always logged in here on that browser. Anyhow, I successfully answered my secret question and changed the password. (I guess that logged me out on Mozilla and IE also shows as "guest" now).

I then tried to log in on Firebird..err Firefox and got this error:

    >This field only accepts numbers from 0-9

What the heck does that mean? What fieldo_O? I looked at help but it wasn't any help. I looked at F&Q and they weren't any help.

I then tried to log in on IE and got the same error message and on Mozilla it looks like I'm logged in but I'm not and I get the error message when I try.

So, how do I log ino_O??

    Mele,

Please empty your browers' caches, delete all existing board cookies and give it another go.

    regards.

Thanks. I did all that for no need as I still couldn't get in.

Guess what the problem was...I had nothing in the field for how many minutes to stay logged in because I was logging in forever so I had removed the 90 minutes that was there by default. The software still wants something in that box though and that was what the error was about: "only accepts numbers from 0-9". So, I put a "0" in the field and got in immediately.

    All is well now. :)

OK. I can no longer stay logged in forever on Mozilla 1.6. What do I put in the field for session length? I have been putting "0" rather than "90 minutes" because I want to always be logged in. Then I check the box beside always logged in, but for some reason, this is no longer working...at least on Mozilla. I appear to be able to always be logged in on Firefox 0.8 but I've only used it for a few days. I generally use Mozilla as my primary browser. (I was logged in forever since these new boards went up here ...until I had the password problem the other day...so I should be able to do that again).

Hmm, since you mention the time field it would appear you are using the dedicated login screen to sign on here. There is an alternate "quick login" option available on the bottom the main index page. (See image below).

Given the recent problems you had, you may now have a bad cookie, so try this: Logout of the forum software. Close all browser windows. Delete any wilders related cookies, if any remain and clean out cache. Open a new browser session, coming to main index page and goto the bottom of the page... Use the quick login box with forever selected.

This should give you a clean login and cookie with just forever set, not a time limit. What happened to corrupt it, I can't say, but since it used to work on your system and does for others with that browser version, it should be able to be made to work properly again. It's just a matter of making sure you get a completely clean pass through the entire login process and that should fix it.
