    Hello everyone,

Are either OutPost Pro v2009 6.5.2355.316.0597 or Jetico Personal Firewall v2.0.2.4.2264 both freeware? When I say freeware I mean no 30 day trial or anything. Who on this forums looks at high score ranking?

Outpost Pro is #1 at excellent and Jetico is good.

Here is the link for the rankings. http://www.matousec.com/projects/firewall-challenge/results.php

Thank you if anyone could tell me if they are free. I don't know about Jetico but I believe Outpost I have to buy? Am I correct? If that is the case then we can forget about Outpost.

2-Years of updates and support $54.95

    Jetico Personal Firewall v.2.0.2.6 $39.95

Is Jetico Personal Firewall v1.0 still good? Are there any such sites that are based on that version for top rankings?

I don't use it, so I can't comment on that!

I love Comodo hijacks don't you.

as for the question form the OP both are good firewalls even tho Outpost is NOT free. still worth the cash if that fits you, and the people on this forum that use Jetico still use it to this day and are very happy with it.. My suggestion is try both see what you like. :D

I cannot comment on Jetico I, nor can I comment on the recent version of outpost pro. However, I can tell you that I have use outpost pro in the past and I was not impressed. In my opinion it's one of those products that attempts to do too much and, as a result, does nothing very well.
As far as Jetico Personal Firewall is concerned, I think it is a very good firewall. It is extremely cumbersome to configure, so export your config set often while you are building your set. In particular, I like the light HIPS features JPF has; the ability to set up rule so that Jetico, Sandboxie, AdMucher, or any security software cannot be tampered with.

Given the choice between these two, I recommed Jetico Personal Firewall (2).

As mentioned above, both are paid software, not free. Jetico 1.x however is still free, and might suit you. There is nothing wrong with it, and it does a pretty good job overall. It is somewhat annoying to deal with at first until you adjust to the rule making process and group things as you need them. But once that is done, it settles down and is pretty quiet. There are some who actually prefer v1 over v2.

    HI Bluesman,

The prices for outpost pro 2009 is much cheaper if you use this link http://www.agnitum.com/lp/better-internet-security_v2.php?gad=CKqdjfYEEghchqKJJ4sM4xjM9ef-AyDq0IlI

You will get 60% off the price for both 1 and 2 year license of outpost.
I personally think outpost 2009 is brilliant, it works great, no issues with any programmes I have used alongside outpost pro 2009 at all and it runs light as well on my system, definatly a big improvement over previous builds of outpost I would say.
