when it comes to ram usage TF is clearly light. but it does not matter if your using 1 gig of ram. the problem of TF is the CPU USAGE. unlike NAB uses very less. TF sometimes Freezes my pc.

Exactly what i experienced and why it didn't take long to unnstall it. It couldn't even alert on my easiest test samples.

CONCLUSION: That company needs sold PERIOD!

    Hello EASTER,

While I respect your contributions and wisdom, I felt that your comments regarding Norton AntiBot(NAB) were a little bit harsh. I guess it boils down to different strokes for different folks. If you have not yet done so, please take a look at the following links below.

Keep in mind that both NAB and Primary Response SafeConnect(PRSC) share the same underpinnings. Additionally, other than the Norton designed GUI, Sana Security provides the technology behind NAB. So, in effect NAB is a Symantec/Norton product in name and GUI only.

So what's the difference between configuration 211 and 210?

    Hello Sportscubs1272,

FYI, configuration version updates primarily correspond to false positive fixes. Keep in mind that NAB/PRSC does not rely upon conventional signature updates or a comprehensive blacklist for detection purposes.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Norton Antibot has been running quietly on my computer so I haven't seen any alerts or false positives. I would say that this program is very simplistic compared to some other anti-malware products out there.

NAB is very good in protection. it really is detecting based on behavior. it caught 3 new unknown threats. after that i submitted this to avg and proven its a new trojan and worms.

great protection for zero day threats. but if dont have money you can try threatfire 3.5 its free. but NAB is the best for me

Now that Symantec bought PC Tools (ThreatFire),
    NAB will be stronger.
We'll see if NAB and TF will be one product...

Looks like they updated it to configuration 212 a couple of days ago. I was wondering what additional behaviors they monitor in Vista compared to XP?
