c-media volume control setting

    mixer icon exists on traybar.
    volume setting on login is ALWAYS minimized.
    i cannot save volume setting.
    win98 is also installed on same computer
    and works correctly.
    clue: when mixer.exe is sent to DEPENDS
    it indicates the wdmaud.drv is 16bit.
    apparently the application is using the win98 drive
    driver.
    how do i replace the wdmaud.drv with my
    xp wdmaud.drv (it exists)?
    i reinstalled the media several times but
    get the same result.

    no, since it was my first post i thought it would appear in new posts.
    since it wasn't listed there i realised i hadn't indicated a forum.
    my son also pointed out not to type in capital.
    it was lovely seeing your response.
