    Hi Natem50,
do you use ESS/EAV or ERA to create the mirror? Do you update the clients via HTTP or Windows shares?
Please backup the mirrorred files by renaming the folder, create it from scratch and get it populated with files. I wonder if that helps or not.

We use EAV to create the mirror and our clients are updated via Windows shares. I will rename the existing share and create a new one from scratch and then update this post.

I've found in the past that it's more reliable to update the clients via http. SBS users should change the port to 8091 to avoid conflicts.

ive had the same problem for thr past week, since i uninstall ess and installed eav. i got the initial update to 3323 but after that it would not update. i have eav on two pc's. had to uninstall eav on both and install kav 2009 on one and avg 8.0 free on the other. i will keep a check on the thread to see when the problem is fully resolved because eset is the best!!! and i dont feel protected using anything else

That was my case -> https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1291175&postcount=171

Clear all the updates from previous mirror, you can move them to another location.
    Clear the update cache, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\Updfiles <-delete all files.
Use the ERA to mirror the updates, but remember to restart your server when you set it up!

Still seems to be a problem updating, at least from my experience. I'm a home user of V3.0.669.0 with Update set at every 5 minutes.

Currently I am on update 3334, and can see it should be 3336. The Scheduler is working correctly, see below, and there are no failed update attempts, also see below.

I have now just clicked Update manually and voila! now at 3336. I'm guessing this is a problem my end. Tried clearing the cache several times but it hasn't helped.

Is there anything else I can try to have the scheduler keep me up to date automatically?

PS it does eventually work, but it can miss a few updates in that time.

rothko, this is NOT a problem on your end. This is a problem ESET is having with their update servers. All of us complaining of having update problems is NOT a coincidence, so don't blame yourself. We're all in the exact same boat. All of our schedulers are working correctly, and no one is having failed update attempts in their logs. We're all impatiently waiting on ESET to fix the problem while resisting the urge to pick up our torches and pitchforks and storming their proverbial keep. :D

Please export the ESET registry key and convey it to me. Update tasks cannot be run in less than 60 minute intervals. Even though you have set it to 5 min., it will be run every hour. Anyways, I'll need to test the behavior with your configuration. If you've had the computer permanently switched on, you should have received all updates unless 2 updates were released in less than 60 minutes after the previous one which is almost impossible.

    Hello,
this is what I have replied you by email yesterday, I haven't heard from you then yet:

the problem is with the primary and secondary update profiles which are somehow corrupt (setting the same primary and secondary profile will currently result in problems). I strongly suggest that you uninstall EAV and install it from scratch. After installation, do not touch the default update task (you can create your own like a scheduled on-demand scan, however). I'm sure it will resolve the issue.

Withs all the 2.7 issues, b4 I upgrade I wanted to take a test drive. DL'd the trial of 3.0.667. Did update initially to 3330 as of 20080805 but that's it. Will not update any further. It did DL a 25KB upload file and a 92KB nup file but I'm guessing those may be some other components.

    Very frustrating.

    Agreed.

I have read this entire topic and I still have no idea when - or if this issue will be fixed. I'm not even sure ESET thinks this is still an issue. Well, it is.

I have clients on 2.7 and 3 that no longer automatically update as they have in the past. I get calls every day and it occupies too much of my time. Like some others here, I have recommended NOD32 to many people over the years. Now, they're calling me too! I simply do not have the time or resources to travel to each client to update / clear cache / submit ticket, etc.

This is getting to be way too much trouble....:thumbd:

    Hello bconcerned,
As I have explained here many times already, the update servers begun fully serving v3 clients a day after the large update and v2 users about 2 days later. This does not mean than no one was able to download updates during the first 1-3 days, it means that the chance of downloading updates at the first attempt was low.

We will need to check the configuration from such a pc. If there are problems updating to the latest version, it must be caused by something else, especially now that a bunch of new update servers have been added. Please ask such clients to export the ESET registry key and convey it to me for perusal (I can provide you with a simple batch file that will export the key when run if you think it'd be easier for your clients).

Eset or Marcos do not need me to spring to their defence but I can confirm that, for me at least, updates have arrived more or less as usual in the period covered by this thread. I'm using 3.0.669.0 on XP Home.

At one stage, for maybe twelve hours or so, I was receiving email notifications of updates which didn't seem to be showing up on my computer quite as quickly as before. When I used manual update I got the 'you are up to date' message a couple of times when it clearly was not so, but normal service has since been resumed.

Apart from those that have configuration issues which would seem to need to be sorted on an individual basis, what more can Eset be expected to do? If the server software was amended to issue a 'we are too busy to respond' instead of the 'you are up to date message' how much more acceptable would that be to frustrated users?

Software choices are always a matter of opinion. If something you have used no longer does it for you, check out the alternatives.

You have posted to a wrong forum, this is for ESET NOD32 Antivirus (v3) which shouldn't have been problems with updating (at least not after a couple of hours after the release of the large base update for v2). I have already replied you with further instructions in the v2 forum, but I'm yet to receive a reply from you.

    Hi Ramreo,
could you please clarify whether you have a full or evaluation version installed? I assume you use v3, what is its exact version number? (something like 3.0.667)

Like many I am here because of the same problem. It seems it was disabling my internet access also, as I have now uninstalled it and my intermittent access has gone away.

I can not get my password to my software because my spam filters are not allowing the email through. I bought a multi pack.

I am now using avast until this is resolved.
