I keep getting pop-ups from guarddog ant-virus saying that I am infected with trojan.mezzia.dp. How do I get rid of it?

And if that suggestion fails you could try AVP Tool, or reinstall Windows...
    Good luck!

    I am working on it.
The first one completed and said there were no errors (I have uninstalled BullGuard so it no longer pops up).

The second program also found nothing:

    Windows 6.0.6000

I am wondering if I should do all this in safe mode.

    Normal mode should do fine!

Notice that it could be a false positive from Bullguard's side. Do you remember the file being reported as infected?

    No, I don't remember.

During installation of the Kaspersky (sp?) removal tool, it suggest I run the program in safe mode.

Actually, the setup gives me a few disappointing messages. It ends with saying:

... update: there might be a better web page to get this tool from...
