use latest 8115 build with UR.
made backup from fully installed xp (vmware guest)
restored it with UR on a normal computer, and have no
keyboard or mouse at all (usb or ps2)

tried adding the inf files manually (msmouse keyboard layout).
tried changing it under vmware to HID devices
tried the hwpnp trick under RunOnce
tried a dvd in UR with all driverpacks.net drivers

nothing is helping. after rebooting the computer eveything looks
good, only no respons from keyboard or mouse. very anoying.

hope someone can help me out, and pointing me a solution..

    thx

normally after UR windows does it's normal PnP (Plug and Pray) stuff.

Mostly works if you give it time (a few minutes normally) unless exotic drivers are used... did you try remote controlling the computer by network to see what's going on?

tested 2 previous version of TI (8018 and 8076) and 8115 but all the same problem. tested 3 different pc's too. dumped with all three version to 3 different TIB files, and restored with same TI versions. rebooted the pc's a few times too with power button.. ALL NO GO :(

very annoying because I use the UR option a lot...

can test by installing on a physical pc and dump it, and restore it to a physical pc. maybe it's a vmware problem.

if anyone has the same problem or a possible solution, plz let me know

another test/ installed on a asus mainboard pc, and restored with ur on a dell 170l. nothing special. no keyboard and mouse. so vmware is not causing hte problem.

    the question is: what does?

    anyone a hint?

ok.. tested it with windows 2003 se r2 sp2 eng.
restored it with UR and keyboard and mouse worked (usb).

when I restore winxp sp3 mouse and keyboard don't work.
even when I add the drivers manually during UR.

did this a lot in the past.
did something change with acronis, or with windows?

clean install with winxp sp3 works great.. keyboard and mouse
    work like a sharm.

    any tips?

    utilman,

Do the keyboard and mouse work if you boot to Safe Mode? I noticed they did and they worked normally in Windows on the next boot. Worth trying.

    Hello utilman,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Workstation Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please try booting the computer with keyboard and mouse disconnected, and then connecting them after Windows finishes loading.

We may also recommend running Microsoft Sysprep utility on the original computer before creating the image for deployment to different hardware.

    Thank you.
