I uninstalled 11.8053 using the windows uninstaller and the Acronis cleanup tool. I've also been through the registry looking for Acronis and TrueImage entries. When I attempt a fresh reinstall I get an error message " This advertised application will not be installed ..." Where else might leftovers be hiding to prevent a reinstall? Using Vista Home Premium. Thanks

Register at Acronis website and download the last version of Ti11.

    Then install the newest version.

    Is there the same message?

After uninstalling the previous package, run CCleaner. It will clean out TMP files (if you change its default so it will delete files younger than 48 hours) and do some cleanup of defunct and unnecessary registry entries.

Windows Installer Clean Up doesn't show any TI products to remove. Ran CCCleaner and attempted to install TI 11.8101. The only entry left in the registry is for AcronisDevices (timounter) and regedit won't delete or rename it. Msconfig doesn't show any startups or services assigned to TI.

    Further suggestions?

    hi,
Installing the 8101 shows the same error, right?

Ok, what for an OS do you have?
Do you have all recommended updates from Microsoft installed?
Do you have installed ".NET-Framework"? If yes, what versions?
(some setup routines in germany need the .NET-framework 2.0)

MrMorse; OS is Vista Home Premium. TI was working until I attempted the uninstall, so I assume I have all the other items you inquired about. Both .8053 and .8101 return the same error message when attempting to install.

Did you clean your temp files as instucted? This will solve 99% of install errors.

Ran CCleaner for the temp files. I'm assuming it cleared them all out. Still get the same unable to install message.

Can you use a Windows Restore point to go back to before TI was installed? You will have to reinstall any programs you might have installed since the date the restore point was created.

    Hello rlwetzel,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Could you please clarify if you removed Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer during the process of Acronis clean-up utility?

Please try temporarily disabling antivirus software before the installation.

Could you please post a screenshot of the error message?

    Thank you.

By default, ccleaner won't delete temp files unless they are two days old. You can change this setting under options.
