    Hello,

I installed the Trial Version of Nod32 v3 from the ESET homepage.
Yet it does not want to update. It says:
Update is no necessary - the virus signature database is current.

    Info:
    Virus signature database: 3192 (20080616)
    Update module: 1024 (20080514)
Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1120 (20080612)
    Advanced heuristics module: 1071 (20080509)
    Archive support module: 1079 (20080509)
    Cleaner module: 1030 (20080513)
    Anti-Stealth support module: 1001 (20080616)

    What can I do?

I installed a trial version on a friends 2 weeks ago. It had the same problem last night and stuck on the same update.

I suggested to keep trying a manual update every half hour. An hour later they rang to say it worked....

    Keep trying a manual update.

Open NOD32, click Update on the left and then click "Update Virus Signature Database" on the right. (Try 6 updates and then wait half and hour. Repeat.)

This is being looked into by Eset as we speak. It has to do with a very large update that was pushed out in the last couple of days.

Hang tight and they will get it resolved shortly :)

I hope so. There is another thread "nod32 won't update" that is about this topic.

We'll continue checking the situation with the update servers. Should the servers be overloaded tomorrow, we'll update the installers on the web so that they contain the current version if you need it for whatever reason. With users continually upgrading from v2 to v3 and adding new update server, we assume these update problems should become history.
