Avira - Webguard question.

I know that Avira Premium has 'Webguard' and it's saved my bacon a few times.

Does ESET or Kaspersky also have a feature like 'webguard'?

 

NOD32 does have a HTTP scanner, no idea about KAV/KIS (way too heavy and intrusive for me). Seeing your signature though, I wonder why don't you check yourself.

 

yes kis/kav have web scanner.

 

i think all major anti virus right now includes web scanner, for eset its included in their realtime scan which is the threatsense technology, for avg its web shield, also for avast. kaspersky has it also but i dont know what its called (proactive defense)?

even norton, trend and mcaffe.

 

You being a licensed customer of both products and not knowing what they have on board? Wonder how you configure them......

 

dont use 3 anti virus product at the same time. use only one.

 

Yep, Kaspersky has it, Called Web antivirus in K 6 and 7, called Web Traffic Protection in K 2009.

 

... He doesn't need to touch them - they simply work out of the box

 

Thing is. I know my licensed products quite well. But with all the hooplah about Avira's Webguard, I was wondering if Avira somehow had a superious 'webguard' technology or if I just got confused by fanboy'ism and marketing.

 

I only use one product per PC. I have three PC's at home.

 

Your original post asked if there's a web scanner feature in ESET NOD32 and Kaspersky Antivirus, not whether Avira's webguard is superior.

Perhaps I wasn't totally clear but I have explained my reasons for asking.
