Free Trial Limitations

What are the limitations of the free trial version of Acronis Disk Director Suite?
Will I be able to expand the main partition of 46gb or combine 68gb of unallocated space with the my main partition?

 

I think you can use the program from Windows normally for the trial period. The CD can be booted and you can run the wizards, etc., but you can't apply any changes. However, I haven't used the trial version before so I could be wrong.

I think you should be able to do what you want if you can do it from Windows. I also recommend creating an Entire Disk Image backup (with TI, for example) prior to doing any partitioning procedures in case something goes wrong.

 

I am trialing this program now. There appears to be so many limitations that it is hard for me to see if this program is any better than the one I have. I am running Vista 64bit and I need to know this program will do all that it is claimed it will do. At this stage I don't know. I have tried the recovery disc but cannot use the mouse and only one of my 12 volumes is present. This may be the restictions or it may not work on my PC. Who knows. If companies want users to purchase their products they should allow us to test them.

 

Your drives and partitions should show up if DD supports them. In this case, it sounds like it doesn't. If the trial version includes the Safe Mode version of DD, you could try it. DD 10 (2,160) has an older Linux kernel and Acronis has not updated it in quite some time.

Assuming the trial version will allow you to enter Linux parameters (F11 at the Acronis menu), you could try several:

For the mouse, you can try the usbmouse=off parameter and check the Legacy USB setting in the BIOS.

For the drives, try the quiet acpi=off noapic options.
