I have situation where email is downloaded to Outlook Express processed through the tempesetantivirus folder then totally disappears! The email is not in the deleted folder or the spam folder, it just vanishes. If the sender is in the whitelist the email lingers for slightly longer in the tempesetantivirus folder but it still vanishes. The inbox registers that there is new mail for a short period, but the email doesn't actually show in the list and then the 'x new messages' message disappears as does the 'x unread messages' label next to the inbox. Any thoughts/solutions would be gratefully received.

Might think about changeing to a nother AV see if the problem persists. there is a bunch of Free ones Avast. AVG. Avira to name a few. would be a good way to know if its just up and deleting your files or if its something else.

Does it happen with every single email? If you are able to reproduce the problem, maybe we could provide you with a logging version of the scanner plugin which might shed more details.

It does happen with every email (more slowly if the sender is on the whitelist) I have installed the latest version however, I don't know if that has worked yet as I did it remotely after the office closed and the new version cut me off, drat and double drat! I will have a result in the morning.

PS I have to wonder if the dbx file is corrupted in some way, nothing to do with Eset, - what do you think?

Just for the record - it wasn't Eset. Inbox.dbx was corrupted, I recreated inbox.dbx and then used Easy Outlook Express Repair http://www.mail-repair.com/ to recover the messages from the corrupt inbox
