During the installation of CrossLoop (freeware application for remote connection) i got a warning from nod32 antivirus and the following file was quarantined C:\Program Files\CrossLoop\winvnc.exe because it was recognized as Win32/RemoteAdmin.WinVNC application; my nod32 runs with BlackSpear extra settings on vista ultimate 32bit, windows defender is on and spybot S&D + superantispyware on demand only, the firewall is the vista native one. Now my question is: how come, having my antivirus quarantined that file, CrossLoop is working just fine? thanks.

CrossLoop uses the popular WinVNC application for the remote admin stuff. I don't understand what is so wrong , the antivirus is there to find - it doesn't mean Windows Defender or SAS should find something NOD32 has previous detected.

However , it must be noted that the detection for WinVNC is detection for Potentially Unsafe Applications . You should either exclude the application from AMON or stop detection for Potentially UnSafe applications.

I ran into the same problem on my network.
I added the crossloop folder to the Exclusions list and the problem went away.

If it already detected it the first time, add to the exclusions list and then reinstall because NOD will have killed the necessary .exe for it to connect properly.
