    I agree.

My suggestion: Updates should be delivered for all language versions. German Updates still aren't available, which prevents the product from working.

Being able to run the Acronis backup Process (trueimage.exe) on only one processor. allowing the server not to be run to the ground when running a backup.

And yes we know that you can make the priority on low however this does not help when its eating up 100% CPU.

In the Task manager it is possible to move the process to only use one however everything time it starts again it loads on both

Please get rid of the newer GUI and make it possible to handle tasks as easy as in TI9: You see them on the first look and you are able to start them immediately.

I would like to see a consolidated log email. As it stands right now, I am using the group management console to administer 5 servers, and each of them send me a separate email log. Id like to have 1 email containing something like this:

Acronis True Image Management Console Backup Notifications

    server01: completed
    server02: completed
    server03: completed with errors
    server04: failed
    server05: completed.

    Thanks!

When can we hope to see real support to successfully backup and restore Track 0? So far every restore of Linux partition necessitates in manually reinstalling GRUB. Cloning Windows disk results in "NTLDR is missing"

I'd like better support for disk cloning as a backup solution (cloning an entire internal HDD to a backup HDD of same or larger size in an external enclosure).

Currently disks cloned in this way with ATI may not boot and it may be necessary to use the very complex Microsoft Sysprep to overcome booting and Windows activation problems.

Could I suggest that in future builds, clicking the Home button again reloads the interface window and therefore refreshes the status bar? Should be quick and easy to implement I would have thought! :D

    Thanks

Desparately Need SSL in eMail Notifications

In their battle against spammers, no reputable ISP or eMail vendor (e.g., Yahoo! or Google) recommends using ports 25 or 587 (both intended to be used without SSL/TLS security) anymore. They want us to send email out on port 465 with SSL.

BUT, no current ATI products seem to have SSL (or, more properly named, STARTTLS) implemented. It means that Notifications are no longer being sent.

When will Acronis implement this capability, so we can resume using Notifications?

I would like to echo this request or, possibly, have TI offer the option of not having sector-by-sector incrementals.
Right now, with about 20Gb of data, when I want to defrag (usually monthly), I...
    a) take a backup and validate it (sometimes full sometime not - depends!!!)
    b) restore from the backup
    c) take a full backup
It is usually quicker than waiting for a defrag and that is ignoring additonal time for larger backups.

BTW I do full backups on Fridays and incrementals other days to a dedicated spare internal disk and, every other Friday following that, do full ones to removable media which is stored elsewhere.
The dedicated disk has 4 (at the moment) folders where previous backup sets are moved to before the next full one. Having an empty folder causes the next incremental to actually be a full one!
That covers me for self- or MS-inflicted disasters and I can go back to any day over the 5 weeks easily.

Command line parameters or switches to directly launch a Task

It would be helpful if Acronis would add command line parameters, or switches, to ATI to enable us to shortcut to directly launch individual Tasks, as some tools like Norton Utilities allow.

The batch file setup mentioned by forum members is at least a way to accomplish it for now, but that's not something an ordinary user would feel comfortable doing.

The scheduling options are not convenient for all users. For example, a laptop that travels often, so it won't always have the backup external drive with it. Even if it did, the user may not want to be slowed down by an automated backup when he boots the laptop to do some work. For this situation, manually launching the backup Tasks is more suitable than using scheduling.

    Hi

If it's possible, i think it will be a great feature to have a calendar view (with the "back up programming" and back up done; instead of the actual listing of events done.

With this, the possibility to exclude special date (without change the programming rules)

    thank you

    Sorry for my poor english

    BIG WISH: AUTOMATED NIGHTLY BACKUP:

    1. An USB stick contains a Linux version of True Image together with a collection of backup-job configuration files.

    2. While Windows is running I plug the USB stick into an USB port of the computer. This triggers the following actions:

3: A dialog asks me to continue. After clicking Yes it presents me the list of the backub jobs on the USB stick. I select a job and click on Continue. This makes the computer shutdown, restart and boot from the USB stick:

    4. The backup job (e.g. image backup of the Windows system partition) is AUTOMATICALLY performed (option: screen off).

    5. After having finished the backup job the computer is automatically shutdown and turned off.

    6. The following day I switch on the computer with Windows: After booting in Windows an automatically opened dialog tells me if the backup was successful or if there were errors.

I wish for a new english build..

It's now 7 months since the previous one, and the exact same bugs I noticed (and reported) a couple of days after I purchased TI11 are still present, obviously, as the english version is still at the same build as it was back then.

exchange information store & sql database backup and restore options as seperate procedures; rather than straight file based backups.

    1. Please allow Standard user accounts in Vista to run Acronis True Image backups.

Acronis True Image requires administrator privileges to run on Vista. Could you please code Acronis True Image to allow Standard user accounts to run backups. Administrator account would create shortcuts for Standard users to run ATI backup tasks manually whenever they need to. Currently it is very difficult to enable this, especially in the Home versions of Vista, as you can see from this thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=212552

(Standard users do not need access to potentially damaging functions like restore, delete, DriveCleanser, etc., and do not even need access to directly open the Acronis True Image application. They do need to be able to launch Acronis True Image backup tasks that an administrator has created.)

    2. Add command line parameters, or switches to directly launch individual backup tasks

It would be helpful if Acronis would add command line parameters, or switches, to ATI to enable us to shortcut to directly launch individual backup tasks, as some tools like Norton Utilities allow. Many of us create batch files as a workaround, but it would be far better if Acronis True Image included the ability to shortcut to launch backup tasks using parameters or switches.

(Scheduling automatic backups at a specific time is not convenient for all users. For example, a laptop that travels often, so it won't always have the backup external drive with it. Even if it did, the user may not want to be slowed down by an automated backup when he boots the laptop to do some work. For this situation, manually launching the backup Tasks is more suitable than using scheduling.)

Either use the Windows scheduler or have the Acronis scheduler wake up a suspended machine.

Ability to backup to a usb drive based on LABEL or drive SN:

Windows has the urge to randomly change driveletters and then the acronis backup would work...

also ability to put securezone on external drive en put the F11 option on another fixed drive.

    thanx

It is good practice to label all ones hard drives. These labels show up in the various TI wizards. I also notice that a usb drive retains its original drive letter but I do not have it connected at boot time, perhaps this makes a difference.

If the TI F11 feature is a "must" you could create a Secure Zone on a usb drive and enable the Startup Recovery Manager in cojunction with the SZ. However as the MBR is modified it would be a good idea to boot up, disconnect the usb drive and attach a second usb drive on which you could create a second Secure Zone.
Provided you always have only one of the usb drives active at any one time they can be rotated and the F11 feature should still function.
I have used the word "should" as I have not actually done this for real but it really should work.
