    Hello
Ever since being on version .650 I've had numerous problems with lockups in Vista. It normally occurs at boot and usually there's a popup that says ekrn.exe can't communicate with the kernel.

Is this a known issue? This is a shiny, new Vista install, with Comodo v3.0 as the only (ever) installed security program.

    Thanks

Hi there, please download a fresh copy of ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0 from ESET's website and SAVE the installer, then uninstall and reinstall using “TYPICAL” settings.

Let us know how you go...

    Cheers :D

I did the same and there's been no issues. It would be nice to know the source of the issue, though.

I'm having the exact same issue, pease explain what is causing the problem.
I'd rather not be wasting a full day doing this on all our systems.

Is there a setting I can manually adjust ??

If you're getting an error communicating with kernel, it must be that the ekrn service is not running. In such case, I'd suggest checking the service properties and make sure it was not set to start manually or disabled. A log from ESET SysInspector might also reveal more details.

My issue was not NOD32. :)

After Vista SP1 (on Ultimate), I was getting LONG bootup times,
and hangs when right-clicking on the desktop. During the long
boot-up NOD32 wasn't able to communicate with the kernel causing
    the error message.

Found the problem to be the Display Adapter Driver.
Uninstalled, then Reinstalled and now works perfect.
