In Window Washer, Ccleaner and EE these programs automatically detect software and automatically cleans the clutter files.
Has anyone created a file that erases Windows clutter as well as other privacy stuff with Eraser that you could post a Rapidshare link or a torrent so we could use it too. Not all people no exactly where all folders and files that may contain private date are at.

There is an option in ccleaner. Options on the side bar. Select the settings button. Select the secure deletion radio button.

Window Washer has a option for adding "bleach" (wiping files).

Also you could consider R-Wipe & Clean.

I am looking to compile a list of directories that get erased with programs like CCLeaner, Window Washer, etc so we can use Eraser in the same fashion. I don't know if the bleach programs in these programs work as well as the functionality of Eraser.

It doesn't matter - once the files are "erased" or "deleted" by any program, Eraser will take care of any remnants with a freespace wipe.

If you're asking for a set of generic file paths to be added to Eraser so that Eraser can handle everything, that's a bit difficult due to the fact that everyone has different programs on their computers; that while they may have similar programs, those programs may be on a different drive than standard; there's a multitude of possible OS's to be considered, etc. Pete

Why do you think eraser has better functionality that the others?

When it comes to erasing it
does a better job because it is more thorough.

ccleaner has similar options when it comes to the level of wiping. I dont think there will be much difference between what eraser does and what ccleaner does. You can make it easier for yourself if you just use ccleaner's wipe options.

I see that you have the option "add to recycle bin context menu" unchecked. Does that mean that it will not wipe the recycle bin?

No. It just means that CCleaner wont add the "Run CCleaner" menu item to the Recycle Bin's right-click menu.

WSFuser is exactly right. When you check that box, it adds the Run CCLeaner item to the Recycle context menu, no more, no less. It dosen't actually wipe the recycling bin.

That is why I don't have it checked, I use Eraser for the recycle bin.

Oh I thought Ccleaner did clean the recycle bin.

CCleaner does clean the Recycle Bin but thats not what the context menu is for.

I am embarrassed to say that I do not know what the context menu is. Is it important to privacy?

Context menu is just what happens when you right click on something. So the context menu for the recycling bin is just what you get when you right click on it.

Windows Washer also wipes "slack" space between files as well as all "free " space.

I am not sure if the free ware apps do this "slack" wiping. Perhaps someone else knows and will post the the answer.
