I have NOD32 Remote Administration 3.x installed on two different Small Business Servers (2003 SP2). Each also has the NOD32 for MS Exchange V 2.7 installed.

Everything seems to be working fine: the client workstations (NOD32 V3 for Business) are all updating properly. However, the servers themselaves are not updating themselves. Evey time, the message returned to the log file is that the signatures updated properly to V 3184 (which is over a week old).

Obviously, I have done some stupid little thing wrong...

I did create the mirror server and verified that both the V3 and V2 mirror folders are getting new files on occasion. Although the ...\nod32v2 folder is there, and has some files in it that are dated today, the signatures on the client remain at V 3184 (June 13), which is the day I installed it.

(I have the same problem on another SBS server I set up a few days before.)

While I don't find the ESET Console particularly user-friendly, it's not terrible either. I just can't find anything (either in the Help files or in the Knowledge Base) that provides more understanding than I already have (which isn't much, I admit).

Anyway, I could use a bit of advice from anyone there with more experience than I have. If you could gently push me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. It feels good to be weaning my client base off of the Symantec nightmare , but I want things working a bit more smoothly yet with the ESET product before I consider it form my larger clients.

Could you please post here the path to the update server on those v2 clients installed on the servers?

    Gawd, I hope not.

It took me two hours to set these all up "properly". To have to go through all that again, just for one of the systems, would be a pain in the behind, for sure...

The software seems OK, I guess, although the user interface is somewhat confusing at times. Also, the documentation kind of sucks...

In order to update v2 from a mirror created by ERA, you'll need to use the path http://192.168.1.100:2221/nod32v2

This information is shown in the ERA console if you click "More information" on the Update tab where you configure the mirror.

I updated from 3.0.650 to 3.0.667 and now it wont update. It is at 3192 and when I try to update it says it is current even though 3218 is latest.

Never had update problem & I have updated version previously.

I have removed & reinstalled. What next??

    sorry my english is bad

    the bug in 3.0.667 it is clear (0 k) file : update.ver in :

    C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Smart Security\updfiles\http_update.eset.com
    (on vista 64 bits)

    i think for xp :
    C:\program files \ESET\ESET Smart Security\updfiles\http_update.eset.com

for update work you must remake this file.
you can found in other folder in : "\updfiles\"
and remplace it in : "http_update.eset.com"

lol sorry it is very hard for clarrification for me.

    you understand ? :(

    Thanks Marcos!

Makes sense, now that I see that.

I'll have to try it. I found a resolution I didn't like (having the 2x client update itself directly from the EST update server), so I haven't been checking back here.

I just saw this reply (Aug. 200:cool:. Does this forum have the ability to let us know (via email) if a thread receives a response? I had "Instant email notification" selected, but didn't know all these other postings were here in this thread...

    Thanks again!
