is it really that bad?i mean..definitions are growing,and it can now stopp some malicious processes!!almost 70 000!Is TeaTimer really useless?

 

Don't worry about reviews/flavours of the day.

Depends if you're happy and confident with it. Do you feel it's working?

You could have the best product, but if YOU don't feel it's working, then you'll be looking for something else.

 

All I can say is that I don't read PC Mag reviews anymore and here's why. As stated in another thread about their review of the new Avira 8 suite, they are clearly Symantec lovers. EVERY review of security software contains references to their "Editor's Choice" which amazingly is always a Symnatec product.

I looked at the review of F-Secure Client Security (which is what our business runs) and it scored 2/5 with references all over the place to Symantec's Endpoint Protection and how much better it is. Just look at all the Norton/Symantec adverts dotted throughout that site.

They're clearly getting paid for recommending and rating highly Symantec products which in the end results in biased and unfair reviews of other products. I hear they're now going pro-Panda too!

I've used Spybot for ages as on-demand and also the IE immunization protection and am happy with it.

If you read all the reviews about all products that you use then you'll just become confused and worried about the level of protection you have. I went through this phase for about a month sometime ago and I got that wound up that I just decided on one security product that I have faith in and have been happy ever since (and no, it wasn't Symantec!).

Just my 2 cents.

 

CNET loves it and they are in the same business as PCmag. Personally I think Spybots day has come and gone and the PCmag review is essentially correct.

What's everyone going for nowadays in terms of Spyware?

NOD32 keeps flaggin down Spybot as a malware/virus... Why?

 

I also think Spybot has had its best days. I think the same about Ad-Aware. Both catch nothing but little fishes.

 

Use SUPERAntiSpyware and/or Malwarebytes' AntiMalware.

Stay away from the following:

-Spybot Search & Destroy.
-Lavasoft Ad-aware.
-PC Tools Spyware Doctor.
-Webroot Spy Sweeper.

 

Great, Currently I am using the first two you mentioned. Ad-Aware I paid for.

What your reasoning behind it if you don't mind me asking?

And what would you recommend?

 

Like I said, I strongly recommend SAS and/or MBAM.
The rest didn't perform well while testing them against spyware!
