It seems that NOD32 is not a very popular AV.
I wonder how many people use it compared to NAV.

RegRun has Antivirus Coordinator but won’t detect NOD32.
Belarc Advisor shows NOD32 as an installed program but not as Virus Protection.

I’m not criticizing, just making an observation.
I use NOD32 and I’m very happy with it.

Well, the number of Eset's and NAV's clients is hardly to compare (yet). On the other hand, Eset placed among 50 fastest growing companies in Central Europe and the number of its customers keeps growing significantly. In my humble opinion, nothing compares to NOD32's speed, heuristics and number of gained VB awards which are good reasons to persuade new customers to decide for NOD32.

Speed: That is true, NOD is the fastes AV
Heuristics: NOD has the best (advanced) heuristics
VB awards: 24 awards, but these awards are only for In The wild viruses.

But detection of Trojans is very bad. In one mounth i find 3 trojans on my computer, this files was detected by KAV, NOD doesn't recognize this files. Eset must improve detection of trojans.

Well, the people that I have switched from Nav to Nod haven't looked back since. They are very glad that I talked them into switching.

As for Trojans, Nod caught the only one that tried to come in on my machine, so it is working for me on that part, so far.

NOD is constantly adding more trojans.
The popularity of a AV isn't important. NAV is the most popular and isn't the best.

About popularity - in czech is most popular AVG and Awast... It's siple, AVG was easy to steal (poor protection, non-protected updates), Awast have "free-home-licence"... Price is for most ppls more important than good results.

Nod have ony one good (working) protection against steal - password protected updates.

One (older) poll from my website (CZ, over 130 thousand uip/month)

    AVG (484 votes) 31.7 %
    AVAST (108 votes) 7.1 %
    NOD32 (246 votes) 16.1 %
    Norton AV (356 votes) 23.3 %
    Kaspersky AV (66 votes) 4.3 %
    McAfee AV (47 votes) 3.1 %
    InoculateIT (16 votes) 1 %
    Panda AV (14 votes) 0.9 %
    Jiný antivirus (40 votes) 2.6 %
    Nothing, swallow me (151 votes) 9.9 %
    Total 1528 votes

I use NOD along with BOClean and I believe I’m running a very good combination.

NOD is a great AV and I’m wondering if it is getting the recognition it deserves.
Most people I talk to have never heard of it.
I never see it in any stores or advertised anywhere.

I wonder if marketing is in order to capture a wider user base.

I hadn't heard about it until about a week ago...did some reading and dl the trial version...after less than 2 days I was a registered user....up until then I was using Panda Titanium 2004 and was having problems with it....prior to that I was using PC-cillin 2003...when Trend quit supporting it and "forced" the 2004 version on everyone I upgraded but the new 2004 version I could never get to work with my computer....so now I have 3 registered AV's and am very happy with NOD32.....works flawlessly so far and am quite satisfied....using one of the others on my other computer with no problems.....
