    Hi.

    SUPERAntiSpyware 4.1 Final was released today!

    The changes are:

    Interface and Functionality Changes

    * Vista UAC Issues Resolved - You should not be prompted by UAC on Admin or Limited user account under Vista. You cannot install program updates on a Limited Account as this breaks the Admin/Limited paradigm.
    * Windows "No Disk" issues resolved - this a Windows error due to it's caching of disk volumes - this no longer should show up for empty CD/DVD driver, flash drives, etc.
    * Splash screen can be turned off in Free Edition

    Technology Changes

    * Resolved rare issues with DDA (Direct Disk Access) and improved compatibility with various NTFS formats
    * Resolved rare crash issues with improperly written drivers (mainly spyware) that caused Kernel Direct to fault
    * Enhanced detection of rootkits
    * Firefox cookie scanning and removal

    Cheers!

    Can I update from current install or must I uninstall and then install 4.1?

    Hi

    I was wondering how is the new version working on your system, do you see an improvement over the last version, or is it to early to say yet.

    It's VERY early to tell yet... I use SAS on demand only, once or twice a month.

    I like beeing able to disable splash screen on the free version now.
    And theoretically, now some crashes with certain malware are fixed, but proving that will be difficult on my computer.

    Maybe in a few weeks when my father-in-law asks me for help (he seems to be unable to keep his computer clean - a real malware magnet...) I'll be able to provide more insight...

    I tested the last beta prior to this release. It was rock solid and worked excellent.

    Congrats Nick and Crew!!!! :thumb:

    What a kind gesture! SAS definetly scored points with me by adding this feature :thumb:.

    I also appreciate these two added features. Great work Nick and the SuperAntiSpyware Team!

    Cheers,

    Running well on my XP Pro SP3 box. Nicely done! If I were Nick, I might consider renaming this app "SUPERAntiMalware". That's what it is.

    Cool, it found me 38 AdWare cookies, so the firefox scanning works fine. Too bad I wasn't able to finish the scan, cause the pc BSoDed during the process.

    I get BSoDs very often lately, time for me to reformat :( Anyway 1+ year of Vista with a LOT of uninstalls kai installs isn't that bad.

    SAS will be the only AS in my next clean install :)

    No worries, it is always a system file (different every time) that gets corrupted. Vista start to "wear out" :D

    It can happen when listening to music, playing a game or doing anything else.

    I really appreciate the help offered, but trying to find a problem on a OS that will be soon (tomorrow or a day after that) cleanly re-installed isn't worth it.
    I have backed up weeks ago :cool:

    Anyway it was a nice opportunity lately to install all kinds of software and as far as SAS is concerned I have concluded a long time ago:
    AS -> SAS only :thumb:
