And they are having some real problems with their computers. We got this picture of one of their comps on the last bounced signal.

And here's our new "technical assistant's taxi"!
Would you bigc or Bj be the first one to go up there?
And then tell me afterwards if it's "safe" for me to go. :D

Sure it's safe. It's kind of like a roller coaster.

well... the safety of a roller coaster sorta depends on what you've had for lunch... I'd rather not take too many chances :p

I think it's going to take you longer than you think. I traced the id signal from that burning computer and well, sorry to say this big c, but it's yours. You didn't by chance tap into the signal bounce did you?

It seems as though the trip to mars may be put on hold or canceled. So I think I will see if an ex spaceship science officer can get unemployment insurance :(

I would have thought the broadcast would have been longer but it didn't take too much time in the end.

Hi SUb! Hope you are doing better! :)

But they have resurrected "Spirit" and given birth to "Opportunity." ;)

Theisinger and other NASA officials expressed relief that their roller-coaster ride had taken a sharp turn for the better, with Spirit on the mend and Opportunity in the middle of what one researcher called a "scientific jackpot."

"I came here prepared for a funeral, basically," Ed Weiler, NASA's associate administrator for space science, observed during the news conference. "Instead … we resurrected one rover and saw the birth of another today."

NASA sent Spirit to Gusev Crater, a broad depression believed to once have contained a lake. Opportunity's new home, Meridiani Planum, is a flat, smooth region that abounds in a type of iron oxide mineral called gray hematite, which typically forms in marine or volcanic environments rich in water."
