i dont need to be a fanboy to state this Elite,

once again... Performance on ones machine was mentioned and Drweb got dragged into another Antivir thread, and not by me, this is jealously, and a little fear i suspect too. :D

this thread, should be avira only ;)

The problem with this forum is that there are promoters of specific AVs that immediately counter any statement that might be interpreted bad for sales. I have no ax to grind unlike a lot of others I have seen. I use Dr. Web and Nod32, amongst another 7 AVs that I rotate from time to time. The point is, Avira 8 is by far the lightest in every test we have have run. End of story.

Actually the problem is not so much A vs B, but how great A is from a shill for the company that produces A.

    Hmm... no wonder!
How much do you get paid by Avira, and where do I sign up? I sure could use a few extra bucks nowdays... even though I use AVG personally... :argh:

Actually, I alternate 9 AVs (as I state frequently) one of which is AVG. My statement was that Avira runs lightest in my tests, not that it was the best AV. There are other AVs that are better in other important areas that beat Avira in my tests which I have also discussed elsewhere.

So while you think you were saying something of value, you weren't. :thumbd:

Nope, just wondering where I could make some easy cash like you. :argh: Though I don't think I'll be able to do it as well as you do.

    Straight from the horse's mouth.

I wonder if it's occured to you that you're not the sole "impartial" figure around here. Guess not.

It turned somewhere around post #20, when someone decided to put forward their favorite AV in a thread that was supposed to be discussing the effect of higher heuristics on AntiVir's performance.

It seems some people just can't stop pushing their products and others can't stop arguing about it or with each other. Thread closed.
