    AVS DVD player will play WMV files . see list
    UNIVERSAL DVD, VIDEO & AUDIO PLAYER

    Support for a very wide variety of video formats: apart from regular DVD (PAL, NTSC, VCD, SVCD) formats, also supported are: the entire range of MPEG4 (including DivX, XviD, etc.), MPEG1, MPEG2, AVI, Real Media video, Quick Time files, WMV files (including WMV-HD), H.263, H.264, mobile video formats (3GP, 3GP2, MP4).
    This strong compatibility makes AVS DVD Player a universal player.

    @bigc7354,

    I cannot remember but does it show the total time length of a WMV file? I did not the player fine and may try it again. Thanks a lot.

    I use Winamp mainly, and sometimes Media Player Classic or VLC.

    I use XMPlay. Tiny, extremely fast response, very small on resources (most memory I've seen it use is 5.5mb, but usually stays at 4.5mb), and plays most any format you want, including AAC/m4a. Does drag-n-drop libraries and playlists, if you need that.

    I'm going to try out AIMP2.

    I use GOM Player and VLC. If neither of those play something, then the file is either screwed or it's some codec used by maybe a few hundred people on the entire planet, lol.

    i dont know how you claim that,but gom cant play mkv,mov,rm,wmv which are popular formats(or well known formats)and it cant play some files coded with mpeg2 codec(only video no audio on some mpeg format on my system & audio comes after istalling codecs only.)i dont think these format files are screwed which are playable in other players,and well definitely these are not the formats which only a few people on planet use.
    and as far as vlc, it also cant play mov,rm and some wmv formats without codecs which can be played by kmp,mplayer easily without codecs.

    Ive played mkv and wmv files with Gom Player so I dont know why you say it cant. It could be just a particular file or a setting in Gom Player?

    I've been comparing it to XMPlay. They're both similar. AIMP2 has more features. The skins are nicer - love those VU meters :) . XMPlay is lighter (5mb memory vs. 15mb) and quicker to respond. I could live with either one, really. :thumb:
