Hm .. just the day after I finally bought 3 licenses for it .. Ach ja, there is something wrong with every AV at times. Norton had it's services constantly crashed a while ago, Avira .. just look for yourself in their forums after the v8 release now, and so on and so on. What I like about Kaspersky is there is always some interaction and their staff is very helpful. Usually they solve problems. Although version 7.0.1.325 hasn't been very lucky so far.

The stupid thing is those errors make people feel unsure about their product. I can wait for my dad to call me asking why KIS is demanding a reboot again and again. And someone like him, who only uses the computer, and doesn't want to understand it, should not be confronted with those things.

Anyway, the error "only" concerns a file from web traffic scanner. Could be worse :)

Nope...no problem here. Build 325 is running perfectly for me. Updater works perfectly and runs quickly. In fact this build is IMHO a joy to use and the best that has been produced for a long time.

Looking forward to KIS 2009 (or KIS 8 to some).

I got 1 PC with 7.0.0.125, one of my friend's machine has 7.0.0.125 and I have a laptop with 7.0.1.321... no problems with any of them. Also didn't have the previous problem with IDS bases... Guess it depends on the setup and other installed (and previously installed) software

Don't be sad...they are doing very well, with KIS 2009 at release candidate stage and IMHO likely to be the pick of the suites.

It is always the case that some people will have problems with this software and that software whilst other do not. No change there.:D

I think you're right. Actually I think they will come back BIG time, with the new one. I just wish the wouldn't call it KIS/KAV 2009 and keep on track with the numbers they use now.

    Cheers

    Who said they went?
Unfortunately, Kaspersky has had 2 small hiccups in the last year with bad updates (that I can remember), but that doesn't make the product bad :)

    Agree with naming it 2009!

Many problems?where are these MANY problems?a temp problem with the update servers hardly constitutes an "end of the world scenario" does it?the updates are so frequent kaspersky are probably still more upto date with defs than 90% of all other vendors!?or were you just having a "little dig" at them?
Why do some people take delight at vendors other than their chosen ones having a few hiccoughs?

    Correct.
For several reasons Kaspersky decided to be Kaspersky 2009

A friend had several BSoDs after the last Kaspersky update. Did anyone experience the same?

I told him to disable Kaspersky for a while and wait for the next update. Hope I advised him correctly.

You should tell him to contact customer support instead. If they don't know about the problem, they can't fix it.
