Cleaning Ability

What is the best product for speed, least false positives, prevent infection, ability to clean the virus once computer is infected?

My choices are NOD Smart Security, Kaspersky Internet Security, Norton Internet Security.

I want a security suite, but I'm most interested in the virus protection, feel free to suggest others as well.

I am currently using NIS 2008, I was using KIS and I still have a license but for some reason it was causing my hard drive to make a lot of noise, so I had to uninstall it, since then I had to reformat machine, so perhaps I will consider it again, I never installed NOD Smart Security, but I understand it is an excellent program. Anyway I will be waiting to hear what everybody says.

NIS 2008 is your best choice!

 

Just to have a variety of suites to discuss about!

I haven't ever used any though, so I can't recomend sth

 

A recent test showing these parameters.

The closed tests over at Checkvir may also be of interest.

Both will give you some idea of the AV component of a suite.

 

From the three suites mentioned Norton is the best when it comes to cleaning.

Now now, a test is one test, how many samples have they used? We do not know! These tests are tested on probobly dormant threads, since the testing company would not want a virus, would they? And also, if these people can just get hold of them, why can't a dedicated number of people just get them all? Is Dr Web crap due to the fact it does crap on some tests? No, Dr Web concentrates on active threats, much more better for customers, rather then consentrating on tests, in this manner, Dr Web, and many others are very good. Some products seem to do good in tests, but have they actually blocked threats for you? It seems to me, that a lot of products that get good on magazines often falter against protection from real threats. Personal experience is the best for selecting a product, the tests are conducted to provide a guidline, not to tell you what to do. If Clam AV beat Antivir in one test, would you swap to Clam?! Or would you stick to personal experience? There is no 'one best product' kaspersky has not worked for me, it has proved useless for me, but yet it is a home product to millions of people.

Those three are 'top of the pop' security apps and you (almost) already made your choice. Now you should try Nod and make your own decision.
I'd personally go with KIS

 

Again: from the three NIS has the best cleaning abilities. And that was what the poster asked for.

 

NIS has frequent errors, and all the awards have proved useless to me when avast found 5 trojans hiding.

 

i dont know why no has said kis since it has decent cleaning abilitys.
norton's cleaning ability isnt so great.

 

KIS ain't worked for me, its http scanning got foiled at high mode, it got through file anti-virus, it gave an alert, and before I knew it, it failed all the actions I gave it, and forced me to live with the virus until I took care of it manually.
